Before CL can ever become very widely used (like ASCII for example),
it must become an ANSI/CCITT/ISO standard, which requires the text
describing the standard not be protected by a private copyright. Are
there any plans to produce a public-domain machine-readable version of
the text of the language specification for Common-LISP any time soon?
